Superhero vs. Supervillain

Superheroes versus super villains are as similar as night and day, with things getting blurry near dawn and dusk. They’re similar in that they both typically have a defining moment in their lives, a fork in the road where their whole life can change drastically. Whether it’s the death of someone they love, gaining superpowers, or some injustice done to them. The difference begins when they decide what to do about it.

Superheroes don’t let the wrong destroy them. They rise up and decide to turn their misfortune into something good. To quote a superhero, “They never run from danger.” And if they do, they get back up and try again. In my opinion, violence should always be the last resort for superheroes.

Super villains are either lovable or hated. It all hinges on their backstory and the level of their sarcasm. In either case, super villains are the complete opposite of heroes. Their soft spots are more guarded but more vulnerable. They’re much like a coconut. A hard surface on the outside, but somewhat soft and mushy on the inside.

PENELOPE RAYAbout the Author

In her natural habitat, Penelope Ray can be found with headphones on and furiously typing away on her laptop, completely oblivious to what’s going on around her except for her attention-demanding cats. Though writing about superheroes and their crazy adventures is her current obsession, she started off as a quiet romance author, but a year ago she found Wattpad and let her imagination run wild. It hasn’t come back yet. And that’s when she discovered me, Coal Black. Her hero, her dashing prince charming, the wind in her sails, and her motivation to keep writing. Happiest in the rain and snow surrounded by cats, Penelope writes her next book while trying not to overthink her author bio or how she’s going to write the ending to the story.
